HomeWorks' unique combination of premium brands, superior craftsmanship and competitive prices has 30 years of history behind it. When Jack Sherman opened a small shop in 1976 to sell the latest technology of the time (microwave ovens) he started a three decade run of steady growth.

Over the years the Sherman Family has expanded that small shop into a full line retailer of electronics, appliances and furniture. In the early 2000's, however, it became apparent a dedicated division would be required to meet our customers' demands for increasingly sophisticated design and installation services for home theater and audio/video systems.

In response we began a large-scale effort to build a custom electronics design & installation organization unequalled in central Illinois. A team assembled from existing employees, as well as outside industry professionals, was put through extensive design & installation training. We partnered with manufacturers of the finest products available. State-of-the-art showrooms were built to allow easy demonstration of complex audio/video products and home control systems.

Today the HomeWorks division of Sherman's has the most accredited design & installation staff in downstate Illinois, holding the industry's most sought after certifications from CEDIA, THX, the Imaging Science Foundation and more. Their professionalism and attention to detail is evident in the results of each and every project they complete.
